Are you a Moroccan decor enthusiast who loves your Moroccan leather pouf? If so, you know how stylish, comfortable, and functional it is. But, like any treasured piece, it requires care to keep it in top shape.
Fortunately, taking care of your Moroccan leather pouf is easy. By following these care instructions, you can ensure that your pouf lasts for years and years to come:
- Dust and clean regularly: Use a dry microfibre cloth to wipe away any dust or dirt that accumulates on your pouf. Alternatively, you can vacuum it with a soft brush attachment. Avoid using hard brushes, as they can leave deep scratches on the leather.
- Address spills and stains immediately: If your pouf gets a dry spill, use a dry cloth to wipe it away. If it stains, use a soft cloth with warm distilled water. For sticky residue, try rubbing it with an eraser or using a leather-friendly solvent.
- Avoid harsh cleaning products: Before using any leather cleaning product, test it on a small, usually hidden spot of the pouf. Avoid cleaning products that are not advised for leather.
- Protect from sunlight and heat: Keep your pouf away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent fading, drying, and cracking.
- Use leather conditioner: Use leather conditioner a few times a year, paying special attention to the top where people sit and put their feet up. This will keep the leather soft and supple.
- Avoid excess water: Leather can stain when overexposed to water, so avoid soaking your pouf with water and soap.
- Prevent scratches: Don't let pets sit on top of your pouf, as their claws can scratch the leather. If you're using your pouf as a footstool, remove your shoes, as buckles, clasps, and metal can also damage the leather.
- Use a cover when using as a serving table: If you're using your pouf as a casual serving table, place a small towel or cover down first to avoid spilling and keep the heat of the cups away from the leather.
- Stuff the pouf properly: Over time, your pouf may start to sag, causing the leather to crease. Stuff the inside of the pouf properly to avoid or mitigate this problem. The filling will bed down over time and may need to be topped up.
By following these care instructions, you can keep your Moroccan leather pouf looking and feeling like new for years to come.
